A painting can be a gentle way to keep them close. Older or slightly blurry photos are fine. Choose the one that looks most like them and try a couple of styles until it feels right. You won't pay anything until you're happy with it.

I.What is Kindest Friend?

Kindest Friend is the pet portrait shop from Canvas Memories, a small company that turns photos into paintings. When you start your portrait you'll move over to canvasmemory.com, where your preview, payment and delivery are handled.

II.Is my portrait hand-painted?

No. It is made with AI from your photo, in the style you choose, and you see the finished painting before you pay. Then our print partner prints it on stretched canvas with archival, UV-resistant inks and ships it to you.

III.What kind of photo works best?

A clear photo where you can see their eyes, taken in daylight if you can. Phone photos are fine. If your photo is a screenshot, crop it to just the picture before you upload it.

IV.Can you paint two pets together?

Yes, as long as they're in the same photo. Everyone in the picture gets painted, people included. If your pets are in separate photos, get in touch before you order and we'll tell you what we can do.

V.How much does it cost?

Stretched canvas starts at $55 for 8x10, and 16x20 is $95. Shipping is included. Those are US prices; you'll see the price in your own currency before you pay.

VI.How long does it take to arrive?

Printing takes 2 to 5 business days. In the US, most orders arrive 5 to 9 business days after you order. Canada, the UK, the EU and Australia take 8 to 17 business days.

VII.What if I don't like it?

Then you don't buy it. The preview is free, so try another style or another photo. If your painting arrives damaged or with a print problem, send us a photo within 30 days and we'll reprint it at no cost.

VIII.Which animals can you paint?

Dogs and cats most of all, but any animal works if the photo shows it clearly. Horses, rabbits and birds are all fair game.
